Zero-based budgeting
Definition
A budgeting method where every unit of income is assigned a job, spending, saving or debt, until income minus assignments equals zero.
Formula
Income − (Spending + Saving + Debt payments) = 0
Example
$5,000 of income is fully allocated across bills, groceries, savings and an extra loan payment, leaving nothing unassigned.
